In case your CV and cover letter grabbed the attention of your potential employer and you have been invited for a job interview, a new chapter of finding a job has started and you should be careful not to underestimate it.

Before you get to meet a representative of the company you would like to work for, it is good to focus on some important details:

1. Always read the basic information about the company you want to work for. It shows your interest in the company and in the job itself.
2. Come on time. Your approach and seriousness is a scale of your timing.
3. Wear suitable and clean clothes. This may vary from position to position but the general rule says: It’s better to be dressed smarter than expected than to look to shabby.
4. Be prepared for questions related to your career and experience. For each employer is important to know how has your career developed and which might be the most suitable role for you.
5. Take your CV and cover letter with you. It is good to have it just in case also with a note book to take some notes if necessary
6. Watch your body language and tone of voice. Avoid being nervous, slack or arrogant. Self-confidence and friendly approach are always helpful
7. Answer the questions truthfully. If you say something that is not true or you purposely leave it out, the employer will find out about it. Maybe right there at the interview or later, after you are hired. One way or another, you will lose your integrity
8. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Questions mean that you are listening to what’s being said and that you are interested in the job. Don’t feel uncomfortable to ask if something is not clear to you
9. In the end make sure you know what the next procedure is going to be. Company or a job agency usually contact the applicant shortly after the interview
