Chipset design error

Intel has discovered a very serious design error of its new chipsets, which are intended for new processor architecture Sandy Bridge. This error can later reduce over time respectively impair the functionality of SATA ports and thereby reducing the performance or limit the functionality of SATA devices, SATA drives and optical drives. This applies to chipsets with code-name Cougar Point. Intel has corrected this error and started with the production of repair version of chipsets which will be available in late February.

Next Generation Portable NGP is the codename for the second generation of portable game console PlayStation Portable. Today the company Sony announced it in Tokyo, which features over previous generations in particular significantly higher performance. 1.2 GHz Tegra 2 for 3D devices

Nvidia Company is already preparing the next update by introducing the Tegra 2 3D (T25) processor. It is intended for use in devices such as tablets and smartphones with 3D imaging. Its mass production is planned in the first quarter of this year and will reach the market until the spring. Tegra 2 3D has two Cortex A9 cores running at up to 1.2 GHz (the 'regular' Tegra 2 goes up to 1 GHz), it tops 5520 MIPS (million instructions per second).

AMD introduces new graphics card

AMD introduced its new Radeon HD 6770 and 6750, which are aimed for OEM use. The company builds on the previous graphics Radeon HD 5770 and HD 5750 with core Jupiter. Using technology DirectX 11, support Open GL 4.1, 800 (for HD 6770) or 720 (for HD 6750) Stream Processors. They are also included a 128-bit memory interface and GDDR5 memories type. Graphics cards are equipped with two DVI outputs, one HDMI 1.4a one DisplayPort.

Popular company Nintendo will start selling the latest mobile gaming console, Nintendo 3DS in Europe onMarch 25 this year. This console allows 3D images with a resolution of 800 x 240 without any special glasses; you can even change the 3D depth perception. It was announced that the Nintendo 3DS will be listed at €249 and £229 by major retailers in Europe. The console will be available in two colors, cosmo black and aqua blue.

MSI introduced its new graphics card GeForce GTX 580 with the Twin Frozr II cooler, the model N580GTX Twin Frozr II and N580 GTX Twin Frozr II/OC. Both models are powered by the GF110 40nm GPU, equipped with 512 CUDA cores, a 384-bit memory interface, 1536MB of GDDR5 VRAM, dual-DVI and mini HDMI outputs. In terms of clocks, the N580GTX Twin Frozr II has its GPU/shaders/memory at 772/1544/4008 MHz reference frequencies, while the N580GTX Twin Frozr II/OC is set to 823/1645/4276 MHz.

At CES 2011 company NEC showcased its latest device, which is "Mobile Notebook". Specifically, the lightweight, only 600 grams laptop with 7-inch touch screen (resolution 800 x 480 pixels). This new device is built on platform Nvidia Tegra SoC 2. Other technical parameters are QWERTY keyboard, SD card slot, USB port and of course a webcam, which is located on the back of the screen. Information about the price and time of its sale on the market is not known.

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. has announced three new lines of consumer external hard disk drives, including two new portable drives and a new desktop drive. For all the new series is typical their design and even a feature SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface. 2.5" HDD offers a maximum capacity of 1 TB and 3.5-inch HDD up to 2 TB. Support USB 3.0 allows for transfer speeds up to 5 Gb / s. For example, 25 gigabytes HD video moves in just 4 minutes. Since March, the new external hard drives will be available in North America.

Intel reduces the size of SSD discs

Intel has added a fresh line of solid-state drives to its growing portfolio of storage products. SSDs provide the performance model and X25-V performance model nearly X25-M. Discs are in the m-SATA connection using via a mini PCI Express connector, after which the signal is transmitted SATA. SSDs in the 310 Series measure just 51 x 30 x 5.8 mm, weighs less than 10 grams and are available in two capacities, 80 GB and 40 GB, using 34 nm MLC NAND Flash memory. Price of thousand units in the collection is $ 99 for 40 gigabytes model and $ 179 for the 80GB model.

In Korea, LG has just unveiled its latest innovation, which is the XNote P210 notebook. Under this name hides a compact notebook powered by an Intel Core i5 470UM at 1.33 GHz, 4GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive. At this size laptop should have 11.6-inch screen, but this display is through Narrow Bezel fitting a 12.5-inch LED Backlight LCD display. In February 2011, the potential users will be able to buy this notebook for about 850€, but only in Korea.

KDDI, a Japanese telecom operator, last week introduced an e-book reader that uses electronic paper. Its name is biblio Leaf SP02 and thanks to solar cells, which are located at the bottom, lasts up to 13 000 pages. Reader has a 6-inch display with resolution of 800 x 600, uses electronic paper E-Ink and with the dimensions 198 x 129 x 9.8 mm weighs 282 grams. It has 2 GB of internal memory, supports WiFi 802.11 b / g / n and mobile network CDMA 1X EV-DO Rev.A. Apparently this is intended only for the Japanese market because mentioned network is not extended beyond Japan.
